Students from Fromefield Manor School took part in their first-ever Great Big School Clean recently helping to clean and tidy up the school grounds.
Armed with pickers and bags supplied by Frome Town Council, they worked together to collect rubbish and make their environment cleaner and greener.
The Great Big School Clean initiative is run by the Keep Britain Tidy campaign and is part of the Eco-Schools programme which supports the school as they work towards their Green Flag Award.
A spokesperson for the school, Liz Andrew, said, “The pupils take great pride in their school and enjoyed working hard to keep it clean and tidy. Their dedication shows how much they value their school and want to make it a better place for everyone.”
Headteacher Gemma Drury said, “I’m incredibly proud of our pupils for taking such responsibility for their school. Their commitment to keeping the grounds clean shows how much they care about their environment and the community. It’s wonderful to see them taking pride in their surroundings and setting a great example for others.”
Fromefield Manor School provides specialist education to young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated complex needs and opened in September last year.
