Frome’s Asda store has been working hard to support education by raising funds for local schools and donating books to charity.
The store raised over £7,000 for local schools, including Christ Church First School, Hayesdown First School, and schools in Nunney, Mells, Shepton Mallet and Coleford. Every time a customer or employee scanned the Asda Rewards app, funds were donated to the schools.
The store also collected 4,000 books, which were donated to the Children’s Book Project Charity.
Following a successful campaign, the store donated 100 totes, each containing 40 books, to the charity, which works with schools, nurseries, and other community groups to provide pre-loved books to children who do not have access to them.
Asda’s community champion for Frome, Jackie Scott, said, “What a massive achievement! Thank you to our kind town and every colleague and customer who has donated.”
