Westbury’s Transport and Vintage Vehicle Gathering is back this weekend celebrating its 31st year. On display will be classic and vintage vehicles and machinery including cars, trucks, motor cycles, fire engines, stationary engines and tractors.
The event is held over two days on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 26th and 27th April at the top field of Westbury Road, Bratton BA13 4TT.
Keith Miller, the organiser, said, “It’s a great day out for all the family and a chance to take a trip down memory lane. We welcome all types of vintage transport and machinery, from bicycles to heavy wagons and from buses to stationary engines. Expect vintage cars, military vehicles, stationary engines, tractors, bikes and motorbikes; and all sorts of antique contraptions! We’ve even got a fairground organ coming this year.
“It’s a favourite annual event with many of our exhibitors and because we don’t charge, we attract them from all over the country and as far away as London, Cornwall, Wales and the north. All the work is done by volunteers and we are a non-profit event and so the small entrance fee is to cover expenses.
“Parking is free, children are free but we do charge adults the princely sum of £2 – which incidentally is the same charge we made at our first event!
“Now in our 31st year, we are one of the longer running events in this area.
“Should anyone wish to join us all they have to do is to turn up at the Gathering, the Trowbridge to Devizes bus via Bratton will stop at the door on the Saturday if requested.
“If anyone wishes to have any further information, I can be contacted on 01373 864166 or 07516 599179 or email kbmflowers@gmail.com.”
